Koton Kraft combines more than three decades of sourcing, wholesale and retail experience with integrated local textile production. This means we understand both how products are made and what they need to look, feel and deliver when they reach the retail shelf.
Our story
Koton Kraft is a family-owned business established in Sydney in 1993.
Our journey began at local markets, selling distinctive gift-wrapping paper directly to Australian customers. From there, the business expanded into greeting cards, homewares and wholesale distribution, building long-term relationships with retailers, museums and cultural organisations. Those early years taught us what customers respond to, what retailers need from a supplier and what makes a finished product suitable for sale.
As importing became more expensive and the market increasingly demanded new ideas, we began bringing production in-house. Our first locally printed textile products were created using a small T-shirt printer. From those modest beginnings, we continued investing in wide-format fabric printing, cutting and sewing equipment, colour-management systems, laser cutting, industrial curing and production technology.
What began as an experiment gradually developed into an integrated Australian textile manufacturing operation. Today, we help artists, designers, boutique retailers, cultural organisations and independent brands move from artwork or product concept to professionally finished textile products.
Our wholesale background means we consider more than how a product is manufactured. We also understand how it will be presented, handled, displayed, reordered and experienced by the customer once it reaches retail.

Our journey
1993 The family business begins
Koton Kraft starts at Sydney markets, selling distinctive gift-wrapping paper to local customers.
1994–1998 From markets to wholesale
The business expands into greeting cards, homewares and wholesale supply, building relationships with retailers, museums and cultural organisations.
2008 The first steps into textile printing
Koton Kraft begins experimenting with locally printed textile products, including cushions, tea towels, table runners and placemats.
2016 Australian textile manufacturing expands
The installation of our first wide-format fabric printer marks the move towards printing, cutting and sewing textiles locally.
2017–2020 Capacity and capability grow
Specialised roll-to-roll printing technology allows us to work with a wider range of fabrics, increase production capacity and support larger customer orders.
2021 Precision cutting is introduced
Laser-cutting technology improves production speed, material efficiency, sizing accuracy and product consistency.
2023–2024 Colour and production advance
Industrial printing and curing upgrades, an eight-colour ink configuration and OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT certified inks improve colour vibrancy, print quality and fabric versatility.
2025–2026 Production becomes more connected
Koton Kraft begins modernising its ordering and production systems through software, workflow automation and a new digital wholesale platform.
